Firebase Remote Config alternative

Remote configs that don't bill you per fetch

From September 1, 2026, Firebase Remote Config charges for fetches past 100,000 a day. Gamebeast bills on events, not configuration reads, and adds experiments and analytics in the same tool, run by your AI agents over MCP.

What changed at Firebase

Firebase's published Blaze rates, at 4 fetches per daily active user (roughly one per session). Fewer fetches cost less: Firebase recommends a 12-hour minimum fetch interval.

Daily active usersFetches a dayFirebase, per month
25,000100,000$0
100,000400,000$54
500,0002,000,000$342
1,000,0004,000,000$702
5,000,00020,000,000$2,082

On the no-cost Spark plan, requests past 100,000 a day are throttled after a 30-day grace period, so clients can stop receiving updated values. For most apps the fetch bill is modest; the bigger change is that a free project now has a ceiling.

What Gamebeast does differently

  • Configuration fetches aren't billed

Gamebeast bills on the events you send. Reading and refreshing configurations doesn't count, so polling more often or adding users doesn't add a fetch bill.

  • Experiments built in, with the statistics shown

Test any value in a configuration, with cohort targeting, mutually exclusive tests and staged rollouts. Results report lift, a 95% confidence interval, a p-value and a sample ratio check.

  • Analytics in the same place

Retention, funnels, cohorts and revenue come from the same events your experiments are measured on, so there's no export to BigQuery to read a result.

  • Run by your AI agents

Connect Claude, Cursor or Codex over MCP (or use the built-in agent in the dashboard) and your agents edit remote configs and launches, ramps and ends experiments. Over MCP, your agent can read your data and, with write access, change configurations and run experiments, each within your permissions.

Which one fits

Stay on Firebase if

  • Your app is native iOS or Android and you want a first-party mobile SDK. Gamebeast's SDKs are JavaScript, Node.js, Unity, Unreal, Godot and Roblox, plus an HTTP API.
  • You already depend on the rest of Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Crashlytics) and stay under 100,000 fetches a day.
  • You only need feature values, without analytics or experiment results in the same tool.

Pick Gamebeast if

  • You run a web app, a game, or an app built with Unity, Unreal, Godot or JavaScript.
  • You want remote configs, experiments, analytics in one tool your AI agents can run, priced on events.
  • Your daily fetch volume is growing, or you poll configurations often to ship changes quickly.

Questions about leaving Firebase Remote Config

Is Firebase Remote Config still free?

Up to 100,000 fetch requests a day, yes. From September 1, 2026, Blaze projects pay $0.06 per 10,000 fetches between 100,001 and 10 million a day, and $0.01 per 10,000 beyond that. Spark (no-cost) projects are throttled past 100,000 a day after a 30-day grace period. Projects that used Remote Config before September 1 get a transition period: Spark until December 1, 2026, and Blaze until February 1, 2027.

What counts as a fetch?

Per Firebase, a call to fetch() or fetchAndActivate() in a client SDK, or a template read over the REST or Admin APIs. Reading values already cached on the device doesn't count, and with Realtime Remote Config each update the server pushes triggers one fetch.

Does Gamebeast charge for configuration reads?

No. Gamebeast bills on events (markers) sent from your app. Configuration fetches and refreshes aren't metered. The Free plan includes 5M events a month.

Can I migrate my Remote Config parameters?

Yes. Gamebeast configurations are JSON, so a Remote Config template's parameters map onto keys in a configuration. Every SDK read takes a default value, so you can keep your in-app defaults while you switch.

Does Gamebeast work offline?

Yes. Configurations are cached on the device (in localStorage on the web) and are available immediately on the next launch, offline included. Unsent events are saved and sent later.
